Moraea monticola, synonymously known as Roggeveldia montana, is a South African endemic perennial geophyte found in the Northern Cape and Western Cape provinces growing amongst fynbos on the rocky lower slopes of the Kamiesberg to Swartberg Mountains. During late spring it produces silky purple flowers.
