Arctotheca marginata is a vulnerable South African endemic species found in the Northern Cape province around the Bokkeveld Escarpment near Nieuwoudtville, growing in permanent vleis on Bokkeveld Sandstone. It has a limited distribution range and is only known from two locations on a private farm. These two populations are potentially threatened by livestock overgrazing and water extraction. During spring it produces bright yellow blooms.
