Seeds and All is a proudly South African Seed Store that was started by plant enthusiasts Johnovon Robinson-Loock and Jonathan Robinson in September 2007, who after many years of running a home décor and gift shop and succulent nursery together, began selling seeds online.
Jonathan’s love of plants started at quite a young age. As a child he quickly learned the names of all the wildflowers he encountered on walks in the countryside with his grandfather. Johnovon developed his love for plants and in particular succulents from the late, widely-known and greatly renowned succulent grower, Tynie Burger from Grahamstown. While passing her stall at the much-loved annual Addo Rose Show she overheard him describing her succulents as being “old people plants”. She pulled him aside and proceeded to show him just how amazing these plants actually were and ever since that moment he has been hooked. Together with Jonathan they started to build up quite a collection of succulent plants and their collection grew so large that they decided on the addition of a succulent nursery onto their home décor and gift shop.
During their time spent running the nursery they collected and purchased many seeds, which with a little research they germinated and grew successfully. This gave them the idea to sell seeds online on the popular Bid or Buy (now Bob Shop) website, an online marketplace that they had already been utilising to sell some of their home décor and gift items. Business quickly flourished and they decided to close the shop and nursery and focus on Seeds and All. For two consecutive years, they were awarded the top seller award in the Eastern Cape. Seeds and All have always striven to source and provide top quality seeds and to deliver impeccable service to all their customers. This dedication to high standard of service has earned them a 100% positive customer feedback score with over 84 000 positive ratings received over more than 16 years of selling seeds online. Over the years their passion for what they do has given them a wealth of knowledge for growing plants which they are always happy to share with their customers.
In early 2023 they decided it was time to boost their brand and start their own seed shop online – seedsandall.co.za. Together with website designer Paula Ferreira from Blaze Media they have put together a site that is informative and simple to use, with an extensive selection of species and products to choose from.
