Nemophila is a genus found in the flowering plant family Boraginaceae. Most of the species in Nemophila contain the phrase “baby blue eyes” in their common names.

Baby Blue Eyes are attractive, easily grown hardy annuals with a profusion of 2.5cm beautiful five petaled azure blue flowers with white centres. They grow about 15cm tall and will cover a 20-30cm area at maturity. Its cheery blue flowers are a welcome addition to the spring garden. The dainty, cup-shaped flowers bloom throughout the spring and into summer. Its light green feathery foliage is also very attractive. Baby Blue Eyes is very useful for planter boxes, hanging baskets, to add colour in beds and borders, rockeries and as a spring flowering bulb cover. These can be grown in full sun to partial shade and require no maintenance other than watering during dry periods.
