Coptosperma is a genus of flowering plants in the Rubiaceae family. It contains 19 species native to Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, and various islands of the Indian Ocean (Madagascar, Comoros, Mauritius, Réunion, etc.).

Coptosperma supra-axillare is a South African indigenous species from the KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces. It forms a shrub or small tree with grey to reddish bark and elongated leathery leaves. During summer it bears sweetly scented white flowers which are followed by round black fruits.
