Gazania is a genus of flowering plants in the Asteraceae family that are native to Southern Africa, often planted as a drought-tolerant groundcover. Over a long period in summer they produce large, daisy-like composite flowerheads in brilliant shades of yellow and orange.

Gazania heterochaeta is a South African indigenous deciduous perennial to 10cm tall with a basal rosette of leaves that are entirely covered with hairs. It has bright orange flowers with dark markings.
