Kalanchoe also written Kalanchöe or Kalanchoë, is a genus of about 125 species of tropical, succulent flowering plants in the Family Crassulaceae.

Kalanchoe zimbabwensis has large, rounded leaves that are covered with fine hairs. The flowers are beautifully yellow turning orange. A beautiful representative of the genus is Kalanchoe zimbabwensis. This is a perennial flowering plant up to 30 cm high, but its flowering stem may exceed 50 cm in height. The whole plant is covered with fine hairs (trichomes). The leaves are bright green in colour, opposite and fleshy, 5-10 cm long, with serrated edges. It has a continuous bloom period with many small yellow – orange flowers.
