Moraea bubalina is a range-restricted South African endemic perennial geophyte found in the Western Cape and Northern Cape provinces and is found from Vanrhynsdorp to the southern Bokkeveld Escarpment where it grows in clay gravel flats and on slopes. During spring it blooms with brownish flowers with yellow to cream nectar guides on the inner and outer tepals.
