Moraea verecunda, is a rare range-restricted South African endemic perennial geophyte found in the Northern Cape and Western Cape provinces on the Bokkeveld Escarpment and in the Biedouw Valley, growing amongst dry fynbos on rocky sandstone flats. During summer it produces silky purple flowers, spotted with yellow at the throats.
