Papaver is a genus of 70 to 100 species of frost-tolerant annuals, biennials, and perennials native to temperate and cold regions of Eurasia, Africa and North America. It is the type genus of the poppy family, Papaveraceae.

Poppy ‘Allegro’is a charming Asian variety, with large glowing red-orange flowers, will absolutely steal the show when in bloom. The eye-catching blooms of ‘Allegro’ are 12-15cm across with jet black centres and can be seen from hundreds of meters away, making them ideal border plants.
