Rhadamanthus is a genus of the family Hyacinthaceae. Rhadamanthus is named after a Greek mythological character. He is the son of Zeus and Europa who became one of the three judges of the Underworld. Many of the species in the genus Rhodocodon created in 1881 were placed into Rhadamanthus in 1998.
Rhadamanthus karooicus, synonymously known as Drimia karooica, is a South African endemic perennial bulbous species found in the Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and Western Cape provinces between the Roggeveld Escarpment to the Great Karoo and Baviaanskloof, growing on stony flats and slopes.
