Aristeguietia salvia is commonly known as Salvia macho, Pegajosa or Pega-pega. It belongs to the Asteraceae family in the Asterales order. This ornamental flowering shrub grows to 2 meters in height and bears white flowers. In Chile it is found growing in low altitude interior valleys and coastal mountains at an altitude of 500m to 2000m. Aristeguietia salvia prefers full sun but will tolerate partial shade. It does not tolerate snow but will tolerate occasional freezes to -5°C.
