Euryops is a genus of 97 species in the sunflower family, Asteraceae. They are native mostly to rocky sites in southern Africa, with a few species in other parts of Africa and on the Arabian Peninsula. They produce daisy-like flower heads from fern-like foliage.

Euryops lateriflorus commonly known as Soetharpuisbos in Afrikaans and Sweet Resin Bush in English is a South African indigenous species from the Eastern Cape, Free State, Northern Cape and Western Cape Provinces. It grows into an erect shrub of up to 1.5 meter tall. This plant grows widespread from Namibia to the eastern, arid parts of the Little Karoo, tending to become dominant in overgrazed veld.
