Wurmbea is a genus of perennial bulbous plants in the Colchicaceae family from sub-saharan Africa and Australia. The rootstock is a corm and flowers can be either star or trumpet-shaped.

Wurmbea inusta, synonymously known as Wurmbea capensis var. inusta, is a South African endemic perennial flowering bulb found in the Western Cape Province where it is found growing from Tulbagh to Bredasdorp. It is found on damp gravelly flats and has broad sheathing linear to lanceolate leaves and greenish or cream flowers with purple margins and bands above the nectaries. The gorgeous flowers are beautifully scented.
