What truly sets Aloe apart is the combination of sculptural foliage and nectar-rich blooms. Aloe × buzairiensis

Aloe × buzairiensis is a striking spotted hybrid aloe for collectors who enjoy something a little out of the ordinary. This compact hybdrid forms an upright rosette on a short stem, with narrow, triangular leaves that curve and twist outward in a star-like whirl. The foliage is a deep olive to chestnut-green, densely dusted with raised, chalky white spots on both surfaces and edged with neat, contrasting teeth. In strong sun or cool, dry conditions the leaves flush rich bronzy-brown, creating a dramatic two-tone effect that stands out beautifully in any succulent bed or container display. Aloe × buzairiensis is a naturally occurring hybrid aloe discovered on Jabal Buzairi on Socotra, resulting from a cross between Aloe perryi and Aloe squarrosa.

In season, slender, wiry stems rise above the rosette and carry clusters of tubular flowers in glowing shades of coral-orange with softer yellow to apricot mouths. The blooms are produced mainly from late winter into early spring, with established plants often flowering more than once a year in warm climates. The bright flowers are rich in nectar and quickly attract sunbirds, bees and other pollinators, bringing movement and life into rock gardens, waterwise borders and patio plantings.
