Mentzelia lindleyi or Blazing Star as it is commonly known is an annual wildflower naturally found growing in the coastal ranges of California and Arizona. Large, 7.5cm, yellow flowers bloom profusely, covering the feathery foliage with as many as 25-35 fragrant flowers! Native in middle California, blazing star grows naturally in the wild forming colonies, or also growing as a single plant in sunny, sandy areas. This is a very showy annual, tolerating heat, drought, wind, and low soil fertility. This beautiful annual grows 60cm to 90cm in height, should be spaced 40cm to 45cm apart in full sun for best results.
