Bobartia gladiata ssp. major, commonly known as Good Hope Sword Rushiris, is a rare South African endemic perennial bulbous plant that is restricted to the extreme southern Cape Peninsula in the Western Cape province, between Smitswinkel and Olifantsbosch growing in seasonally marshy flats and sandy plateaus in sandstone fynbos. For most of the year, with a peak during spring, it bears striking yellow flowers.
