Bobartia longicyma ssp. magna, commonly known as Big Broom Rushiris, is a South African Western Cape endemic perennial bulbous plant that occurs from the Cape Flats and Betty’s Bay along the coast to Elim, and extends inland to the base of the Riviersonderend Mountains occurring on sandy coastal flats and lower slopes in fynbos. During spring appears the striking yellow flowers that contrast amazingly with the rush-like foliage.
