Canarina is a genus in the Campanulaceae family with three species native to Africa and the Canary Islands.

Canarina canariensis, commonly known as Canary bell-flower, is endemic to the Canary Islands. It forms a thick, fleshy, beet-like tuber and the shoots are annual, very herbaceous and slightly fleshy, with a marked dormancy during summer. It loves to scramble through scrub or hangs down cliffs. The flowers are orange or red, beautifully veined, and produce large drops of very watery nectar. After flowering the plant forms edible, black or purple, fig-like fruits.
