Gazania is a genus of flowering plants in the Asteraceae family that are native to Southern Africa, often planted as a drought-tolerant groundcover. Over a long period in summer they produce large, daisy-like composite flowerheads in brilliant shades of yellow and orange.

Gazania uniflora, synonymously known as Gorteria uniflora, is a South African indigenous perennial groundcover found in the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape provinces. Gazania uniflora is a spreading, evergreen plant with glossy leaves, to 15cm long, dark green above, covered with silky white hairs below. In early summer, they bear solitary bright pink flowerheads, usually zoned in a contrasting colour.
