Lapeirousia is a genus with about 40 species in the Iridaceae family that is found across sub-Saharan Africa from Nigeria and Ethiopia to the southwestern Cape. Leaves are flat and curved to narrow and pleated.

Lapeirousia pyramidalis ssp. pyramidalis is a South African endemic perennial found in the Northern Cape and Western Cape provinces from southern Namaqualand to the Little Karoo. It bears flowers that are cream to bluish in colour.
