The genus “Larryleachia” is named after Leslie (Larry) C. Leach (1909 – 96), an English born, self taught botanist in Zimbabwe and South Africa who specialised in the succulent Asclepiads and Euphorbias. Larryleachia is a genus of stapeliad succulent flowering plants in the family Apocynaceae. Phylogenetic studies have shown the genus to be monophyletic, and most closely related to the stapeliad genera Richtersveldtia and Notechidnopsis.
