Lobelia is a genus of flowering plants in the Campanulaceae family comprising 415 species, of which 69 are indigenous to South Africa.

Lobelia deckenii ssp bequaertii is an afro-alpine species from Uganda. This amazing, hardy perennial grows to 5m when in flower. It has attractive hairy sessile leaves in rosettes and has a dense inflorescence. The blue corolla splits into 5 lobes.
