Machairophyllum is a genus of plants in the family Aizoaceae confined to the southern part of central South Africa from the Little Karoo at Barrydale in the west to the Zuurberg near Kirkwood in the east. Machairophyllum is unusual in the Mesembryanthemaceae-Ruschioideae in that fynbos and renosterveld are the preferred habitats.
Machairophyllum bijliae, synonymously known as Machairophyllum acuminatum, Machairophyllum baxteri, Machairophyllum stenopetalum or Machairophyllum vanbredai and commonly known as Kleinkaroo Daggerfig, is a South African endemic species found in the Eastern Cape and Western Cape provinces. It grows into a tufted succulent about 20 cm across. The leaves are trigonous and glaucous in colour. It bears solitary flowers on long pedicels.
