Moraea muddii, commonly known as Early Yellow Moraea, is a South African indigenous perennial geophyte found in the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces. Moraea muddii is a summer rainfall species, occurring in the higher grassland parts of the Amatola Mountains and in the northern parts of KwaZulu-Natal and up into Mozambique and eastern Zimbabwe. Often no taller than 40 cm, it does not form clumps and has a channelled narrow leaf that is 3-6 cm wide. The flowers are pale yellow with a darker yellow nectar guide.
