Tarenna is a genus of plant in family Rubiaceae. It contains the following species, to name a few. Tarenna agumbensis, Tarenna drummondii, Tarenna luhomeroensis, Tarenna monosperma, Tarenna nilagirica and Tarenna quadrangularis. Tarenna supra-axillaris commonly known as Narrow-leaved Butterspoon is a South African indigenous species from the KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces. It is synonymously known as Coptosperma supra-axillare. Tarenna supra-axillaris grows into a shrub or small evergreen tree. It has narrow leathery leaves. During summer it bears clusters of creamy white flowers in the leaf axils. These are followed by black fruits.
