Ebracteola is a South African indigenous genus placed in the Aizoaceae family. They are also found in neighboring Namibia. Plants grow in small, much-branched tufts. The bicoloured flowers in combination with the short, stiff, blue-green leaves sprouting from a thickened rootstock, characterize the genus. Plants are easily cultivated in pots or open beds.

Ebracteola wilmaniae, commonly known as Prince Albert Vygie and synonymously known as Mesembryanthemum vermeuleniae, Ruschia wilmaniae, Ruschia wilmaniae var. angustifolia, Ruschia wilmaniae var. vermeuleniae and Mesembryanthemum wilmaniae, is a South African endemic species found in the Northern Cape and North West provinces, from Zeerust to Prieska. It is a compact highly branched succulent with a thickened storage root stock and will form a dense mat with age. It grows in grassland among sandstone rocks, in gravelly soil, often in pockets on rocks or on pans where the rainfall per year is between 300 and 500 mm occurring mostly in summer. This species looks surprisingly like mesembs of the genus Hereroa.
