Cerochlamys is a genus of plants in the family Aizoaceae. They belong to a group of plants, collectively known as Mesembs. They are all succulent plants, with fleshy, water-storing leaves. These plants are characterized by their showy flowers, usually in shades of pink or purple, which appear in midwinter. They can also be distinguished from other similar looking genera by their irregularly shaped, purplish green leaves which have an often partially peeling waxy covering. The genus name Cerochlamys is derived from the Greek words ceros which means wax and chlamys which means mantle, in reference to the waxy leaf splants in this genus. They make excellent pot plants and can successfully be grown in rockeries and sunny windowsills.

Cerochlamys pachyphylla commonly known as pronkvingertjies in Afrikaans and Showy Fingers in English is a South African endemic succulent, found exclusively in the Western Cape Provinces Little Karoo. It grows in a winter rainfall area and should be sparingly watered during summer. When growing them outside their natural habitat they should be protected from excessive rainfall. The flowers normally open in the late morning and stay open all day long. They are usually long lasting, probably due to the fact that they flowers in the milder winter months.
