Ehretia is a genus of flowering plants in the borage family, Boraginaceae. It contains about 50 species. The generic name honours German botanical illustrator Georg Dionysius Ehret. Ehretia is becoming very popular as garden plants because they are hardy and drought resistant.

Ehretia rigida commonly known as Puzzle Bush produces sweetly scented lavender flowers in spring. It has edible fruit that are orange to red in colour. The wood is used as a magical good luck charm.
