Zaluzianskya spathacea, previously known as Nycterinia spathacea, is a South African indigenous perennial found in the Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces. This species is widespread across the eastern escarpment, from the Wolkberg to the KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg and Amathole Mountains and Somerset East. It also occurs in Lesotho and eSwatini. During summer it produces striking white flowers that are red on the reverse.
