Aloe × inopinata

Aloe × inopinata is a collector’s aloe grown for its clean, architectural symmetry and refined “starburst” rosette. This is a horticultural hybrid (the “×” indicates hybrid origin), best known from cultivation rather than a single wild locality, and it has become popular with aloe enthusiasts worldwide for its compact habit and polished, modern look.

In cultivation it forms a neat rosette of slender, lance-shaped leaves that arch slightly outward from a tight centre. The foliage is an even, fresh green and looks especially striking when grown in a shallow pot or bowl and top-dressed with grit or pebbles, which also helps keep the crown clean and dry.
