Hypocalyptus sophoroides is a beautiful upright shrub with long heads of bright pink flowers, native of South Africa. It naturally occurs from the Cedarberg to Caledon, the Langkloof and Swartberg, growing along streams in the mountains and flowering in spring. It grows to 4m in height and has maroon stems and tri-foliate bluish-grey leaves. It has stunning large heads of magenta flowers with yellow centres.
