Phygelius, common names Cape fuchsia or Cape figwort, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Scrophulariaceae, native to wet slopes and banks in southern Africa. They are evergreen shrubs often treated as perennials in colder climates.

Phygelius capensis is in the snapdragon family, Scrophulariaceae and is a gorgeous shrub up to 1.5m. This cold hardy plant has a long blooming season from spring to autumn. The remarkable pendant flowers are frequently held at unusual angles, sometimes even pointing back towards the main stem. The leaves are green with rounded little teeth.
