Gentiana flavida or Creamy Gentian as it is commonly known blooms during autumn. It grows 30 to 45cm in height, should be spaced 25 to 30cm apart and should be planted in Full Sun to Part Shade. Perhaps you will have the privilege of witnessing a bumblebee squeeze into this delicate wildflower! This Gentian never opens, but has four petals, fused together with accordion-like folds to allow room for expansion, preventing the flower from tearing upon pollination by bumblebees. Wonderful in a formal setting, en masse, and in borders. A fascinating autumn bloomer.
