Cyanotis, synonymously known as Tonningia, is a genus of mainly perennial plants in the family Commelinaceae, first described in 1825. Species of the genus are native to Africa, southern Asia, and northern Australia.

Cyanotis speciosa is a perennial that grows from 25-30cm tall. It has lanceolate basal leaves & in autumn is has small blue or mauve flowers covered with hairs.
