Hymenolepis is a South African genus of flowering plants in the daisy family Asteraceae. Hymenolepis is differentiated from Athanasia by the pappus scales and slender capitulum. Some Euryops species are similar, but are distinguishable by their smaller flower heads that appear earlier, and their undivided leaves.

Hymenolepis crithmoides commonly known as Feathery Coulter Bush is an attractive shrub growing to a height of up to 3m. It has large, grey, leathery leaves that are finely divided. From spring to early summer it bears huge yellow, honey-scented flower clusters which make a very showy display. Found on rocky sandstone slopes, a well-known sight on Sir Lowreys pass in spring and early summer. Extremely drought and wind tolerant it prefers full sun and benefits from occasional feeding. Prune to shape after flowering. Plant in full sun, average to rich, well-drained soil. Prune to shape after flowering. This plant will brighten up any garden. Use in Mediterranean gardens and mixed plantings.
