Machairophyllum is a genus of plants in the family Aizoaceae confined to the southern part of central South Africa from the Little Karoo at Barrydale in the west to the Zuurberg near Kirkwood in the east. Machairophyllum is unusual in the Mesembryanthemaceae-Ruschioideae in that fynbos and renosterveld are the preferred habitats.
Machairophyllum albidum, synonymously known as Bergeranthus albidus, Bergeranthus cookii, Carruanthus albidus, Carruanthus cookii, Machairophyllum cookii, Mesembryanthemum albidum or Mesembryanthemum cookii and commonly known as Pale Daggerfig, is a South African endemic species found in the Western Cape province.
