Moraea lilacina is an endangered South African endemic perennial geophyte found in the Western Cape province from Calitzdorp to the northern foothills of the Langeberg and the Outeniqua mountains, often amongst fynbos, on Renosterveld, in loamy clay soils on rocky slopes. During spring it produces a lilac-mauve flower with a yellow nectar guide. It is a slender plant growing to 30 cm with a narrow single leaf.
