Moraea mutila, synonymously known as Iris tripetala, Moraea monophylla, Moraea punctata, Moraea tripetala var. mutila or Vieusseuxia mutila, is a South African endemic perennial geophyte found in the Western Cape province from Tulbagh to Piketberg and the Cape Peninsula, often coexisting with fynbos, growing on clay soils derived from granite and shale. Growing from 15–30 cm tall, from mid-winter to mid-spring it produces pale blue or white flowers, with white to pale yellow nectar guides with dark blue or purple spots.
