Moraea tripetala ssp. jacquiniana, synonymously known as Moraea tripetala var. jacquinii or Vieusseuxia pulchra, is a South African endemic perennial geophyte found in the Western Cape province ranging from Olifants River Valley and Piketberg to the Cape Peninsula and Palmiet Mountains, coexisting with fynbos and growing on stony sandstone slopes at lower elevations. From mid-winter through to the end of summer the striking purple flowers with white nectar guides appear.
