Tephrosia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Fabaceae. It is widespread in both the Eastern and Western Hemisphere, where it is found in tropical and warm-temperate regions.

Tephrosia grandiflora, synonymously known as Apodynomene grandiflora or Galega grandiflora and commonly known as Pink Bush Pea in English, Rooiertjie in Afrikaans and Ihlozane, Iqwense or Udabane in isiZulu, is a small to medium sized South African endemic shrub from the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal provinces. Large pink flowers are produced all year round and these attracts bees, birds and butterflies to the garden. Plant this gorgeous shrub in full sun for best results. Root infusions are used for chest complaints, and it is said to be used as a fish poison. It also has insecticidal value.
