Sparaxis is a genus in the Iridaceae family that is endemic to South Africa and found mostly in the southwestern Cape and the western Karoo.

Sparaxis fragrans grows 7-25cm in height. During spring it produces fragrant yellow/cream/beige flowers. It is well suited to pot culture. Sparaxis is a winter-growing, summer-dormant genus. For this reason, plant the seeds or corms in autumn between late March and early June. Sparaxis is recommended for cultivation in both gardens and containers.
