Sparaxis is a genus in the Iridaceae family that is endemic to South Africa and found mostly in the southwestern Cape and the western Karoo.

Sparaxis pillansii is a South African endemic species from the Northern Cape Province from Nieuwoudtville to Calvinia. It grows to 65cm tall. During spring it bears pink to red flowers that are marked with yellow and purple markings. It is normally found growing in dolerite-derived clay that is waterlogged for most of the growing season, often in standing pools. Sparaxis is recommended for cultivation in both gardens and containers.
