Stoebe rugulosa, commonly known as Purple Snakebush, is an endangered South African endemic perennial shrub found in the Western Cape province from Caledon to Albertinia growing amongst fynbos, on alluvial terrace gravels, usually overlying clays, possibly also stony shales. During late summer through to autumn the bright purple flowers that attract butterflies to the garden appear.
