Amellus is a genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae, described as a genus by Linnaeus in 1759. Amellus is found in southern Africa from South Africa to Namibia and into Botswana.

Amellus epaleaceus, synonymously known as Susanna epaleacea, is a South African indigenous species found in the Northern Cape Province. From late winter to early spring this low-growing species produces eye-catching purple flowers that attract bees and butterflies to the garden, making it ideal for border planting.
