Chasmatophyllum is a genus of succulent plants native to the Karoo mountains of South Africa. The genus contains eight accepted species.

Chasmatophyllum braunsii, synonymously known as Chasmatophyllum braunsii var. majus is a South African endemic mesemb found in the Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and Western Cape Provinces. This species is said to be widespread across the southern Great Karoo, from Laingsburg to Victoria West and Willowmore growing among Albany Thicket in the Nama Karoo and Succulent Karoo.
