Hippocratea is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Celastraceae. It comprises of about 13 species. The genus was described by Carl Linnaeus. They are mostly lianas or climbing shrubs, less often small trees.

Hippocratea longipetiolata commonly known as Helicopter Paddle-Pod forms a shrub or scrambler to 6 meters tall. It has yellow green leaves with long petioles and four-angled stems. During summer it bears green flowers which are followed by seeds in unusual pods.
