Kalanchoe also written Kalanchöe or Kalanchoë, is a genus of about 125 species of tropical, succulent flowering plants in the Family Crassulaceae.

Kalanchoe alticola is a South African indigenous species from the Mpumalanga Province where it can be found growing from Barberton to north-eastern Swaziland. Kalanchoe alticola grows to 1 meter tall with thick fleshy leaves which have reddish margins. During autumn this striking plant bears small yellow flowers in clusters.
