Sebaea is a genus of annual plants in the family Gentianaceae. Species occur in Africa, Madagascar, India, China, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand. The generic name honours Albertus Seba, a Dutch pharmacist, zoologist and collector who live from 1665 to 1736. In 1700, he opened an apothecary shop in Amsterdam and collected exotic plants and animal products from sailors and ship surgeons from which he could make medicines.

Sebaea albens is a short-lived South African endemic annual found in the Western Cape Province. It has oval leaves and four-petalled white flowers from spring to summer. The specie name, albens, means turning white.
